Description

This tutorial describes the configuration process of a Mac OS device, to allow Internet access, using Eduroam's wireless network, provided by Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo.

This is a step by step tutorial providing the necessary stages to configure the client. You must possess your institutional access credentials provided by IPVC.

Version

This tutorial was based on the following OS requirements and software versions:

 Authentication Client Application: General Authentication Client(Cyberoam Technologies Pvt. Ltd.)
 OS: Mac OS
 Version: 10.00 onwards 

Step by Step Configuration

Prerequisites:

JDK or JRE version 1.6 or greater should be installed in client machine.

Step 1: Download General Authentication Client

Download General Authentication Client from: corporateclientmac.zip

Save it on the Mac client machine. The following files will be extracted: Corporate_Client.jar and Readme.txt.

Double click Corporate_Client.jar to install it on the Mac client machine.

Step 2: Configure Server Details

Once client is installed on the machine, the general authentication client icon appears on the task bar. Click the icon and select Preferences to configure server details.

Set Cyberoam Server Address and click Check to check connectivity with server.

 Cyberoam's server IP: 172.16.150.2

Additionally you can enable:

  • Show Notification Messages - To view pop-ups at each login and logout.
  • Ask on Exit - To display warning message before logging out.
  • Auto Login on Client Startup - To login user to Cyberoam directly at machine startup.

Click Save to save the configuration.

Step 3: Login to Cyberoam

Login to Cyberoam using General Authentication Client by double-clicking the client icon on the taskbar. Enter user credentials and click Login.

To logout just click Logout.
